over it again: * Greta is OK, but young, naive, and - alongside her own sincere commitment which all should applaud and support actively any way we can - she's obviously being used. Watch for the bad parts, support the good parts. * Plenty of the uprisings and disturbances around the world are genuine, spontaneous, and arise out of the local populace. Support and help them, but be aware that the scumbag manipulators try it on with any that they can penetrate. Is HK, for example, spontaneous or an attempted - and bound to fail in blood and disappointment - colour revolution? Hint: it started as genuine expression of dissatisfaction amongst hard-pressed proletarian HKers; but then... * The thesis is sound, that many people are becoming so destitute that no further exploitation of them as cheap workers and as consumer markets producing worthwhile profit is profitable. As is the further thesis that exploiters can then still use them even so as disposable cannon fodder, or for free-range organ harvesting (as has been happening in the Daesh-occupied parts of Syria, with the zionistani scumbags in the thick of that vile trade). * Gangster-capitalist psychos are, as usual, scouring around for any vulnerable area/people that still has any kind of lootability. How can we imagine they're going to keep their claws out of any promising dust up? * HowTF is constantly rabbiting on about the SGCs and the urgent need to do something effective about them denialism and do-nothing-ism? Also, this morning, in pissing, cold rain, walking the bleedin' talk, I've been out with the dog planting effing trees - again. Is that armchair do-nothing-ism? Is my constant urging - and active supporting - of masses more tree/forest-cultivation? * Is sober acceptance of the impenetrable complexity of the matter denialism? Really? Or just caution about what's really best to do; and caution about our perennial susceptibility to Chicken Little panics? This, whilst AT THE SAME EFFING TIME!! urging on constantly the line that we MUST wake up and take wise, large-scale action. * Is observing that the situation of the Earth has been even hairier in the past, yet life still survived and continued, denialism and do-nothing-ism? Or is it just plucking what comfort we can out of the well-fecked-up situation that we've created, whilst at the same time urging constantly that we gird our loins and get busy doing what's still possible to alleviate things? As John Greer points out often, one of the bad habits that afflicts the Westerm chatterati is binary thinking: There are only ever two positions in any dispute, and they are always in clean, clear opposition, one good, one evil. Er - no. Realworld situations are often multi-player multi-faceted, and messily complex. Don't reduce everything to over-simplistic blacks-versus-whites. As a long-time reader of Dmitry Orlov, this is some of what I see in his output. Cordial regards to all!
