I'm not sure how citing an election they lost on a pro-'Brexit' ticket proves that didn't need both Remain and Leave votes. No doubt betraying that promise cost Labour dearly, but it's not a convincing argument that sticking with it would have made the necessary difference and especially given the 2017 result when Corbyn was still relatively in his honeymoon period and given that there were two more years of establishment heightened beatings to come. They would have lost Remain votes too of course. If Labour lost votes from the heartlands to the Tories, it's a curious mass self-harming. |
