| Only just seen this, Derek; I must tick that 'notify me' box! I don't disagree, but 'rules is rules'. I believe the new position was voted for at conference (although maybe it shouldn't have been) and whilst ignoring it would, perhaps, have allowed Corbyn to be true to himself, I suspect the nett result would have been the same, except Stalinist Corbyn's position would have become even more untenable. Besides which, not unreasonably, Corbyn knew there were many other issues at stake and that many had invested a ton of hope in him. Certainly he had an unenviable four years. |
