keeping a watching brief on the idea, surely? Eternal vigilance, and all that. To me, it does seem that bMoA has something of a case made already, and he's a careful, real journalist with a pretty good track record - including back-tracking and saying 'I got that wrong' from time to time. And otoh, the 'sincerity' of the car salesman is a real - fake - thing. Many are able to do it.
Wait (with open-minded scepticism  ) and see...
