Don't get hung-up on a common expression; it was actually an acknowledgement that from the little I've see, their present work is good, but I don't follow too much of their work very closely, and in view of their frankly unbelievable moral failure over Syria, you have to always be aware that they may suddenly do another 180 degree turn on another issue, or maybe like Democracy Now, they'll produce mostly good work but throw in an odd dubious piece as well; or maybe they're just building-up credibility to be used later in say warmongering against Iran, who knows ?
Sometimes things only become apparent much later, so yes praise & use their current work if you think it's good, but at the same time I think it's just wise to be open to the possibility of a re-occurrence of another moral lapse, or even that all is not really what it seems to be.
