Well said Graham. Whatever threats the government may have made, they will take a very long time to carry them out.
A compulsary scheme is the only one that eveyone will join.
Any scheme will have a long slow introduction and be full of holes.
How will the electorate respond if a government prevents them having their vehicle repaired.
No scheme will eliminate cowboys from any trade, at he end of the day they just don't care. Bad garages will just close and reopen under a new name when they are eventually policed out.
Shouldn't the consumers take some of the responsibility for using business that have a poor image, usually a cost based desicion.
Consumers who use one independant garage regularly and have their cars well maintained rarely have cause for complaint.
Consumer confidence is provided by professional attitude, tidy premises and most of all good reputation. Not a sign over the door that has been bought.
