I am afflicted with the same problem although it is not limited to that. We have a funny family story about how my husband chased me around our home for 9 years with florescent markers and maps! I was so angry that after 8 years, I decided I would stop avoiding him and really try to learn to read a map. After one year I actually did learn. It was still hard to do, and now after 22 years of marriage I can read a map as well as the average person. I still have to consciously oreint myself to North and South etc, but at least I don't panic anymore. I know how frustrated you feel. I can remember as a little kid being terrified that I would get on the wrong school bus! Or get lost around the school, and I used to have nightmares about forgetting my locker numbers. By the way, do you have any info on this disability? I love to have it if you do. What is it called?
