On any surf beach any where I use a pulley rig with BOS sinkers,depending on the wind tide and surf conditions as to how heavy the lead is I use,,but the northern end of Whiritoa I have had moderate success using a single hook ledger rig with a 3 oz bomb fishing amongst the rocks at that end, or a ball straight to the hook.
