Re: Planning a trip to mokau
that is where I was fishing tom was at the northern end of whiritoa wasn't till I changed to fresh mussels after I spotted rock full of them at low tide I started getting bites (not the typical snapper or kahawai hits mroe like short sharp tugs ont he rod)and had also dickied up a ledger rig out of some spare mono I had and cut up a couple of traces for my pulley rig to get hooks for it but then I swapped to the ball sinker job and was able to use the clip on traces for that . But I am reall tempted next time to throw a whole pilly out on an unweighted strayline on one rod and ledger or ball sinker rig on the other with there not being much heavy current there as the ball sinker rig stayed straight out and never moved up or down the beach once must be close to 15 meter deep at full tide there.
