OK: If you wish to make a TV show for people remember you are BROAD-casting. I have emphasized broad in caps because television is aimed at a broad audience and like most specialist hobbyists you (we) will tend towards a highly specific and detailed experience. Fish nerds if you will.

Chad has touched on this , referencing the dramatisation of the show. While this is a technique for "energy" he also appeals for the lower common denominator. The Im half paying attention type viewer. He is aware now of some of the production effort. Unlikley he was involved in preproduction (the Storyboarding , Objective creation, Scripting (loose but important in a show such as the ITM etc) Logistics , Equipment hire Insurance etc etc.Chad will correct us/me if I am wrong in this assumption. Then the tedious hours of editing and massaging the crap away and ordering the few good moments into a meaningful narrative.
Then the polish and postproduction shitfight cutting and recutting into the TV halfhour.

Regarding the difficulty of how hard it is to get up early: Pffft. Concrete powder bro :-)
Obtaining appropriate sponsorship that covers costs yep shes a doozy..

Phill: People that determine what is and isnt shown are keenly aware of what is wanted. They provide it after all. Hence the lowcost highly rated cooking shows, Talent shows etc. You are falling into the trap of thinking other viewers seek out the same experience as you. Broad versus Narrow

WHere Chad is asking you Phill, about the types of things people want to see/Know about etc and you repy in the negative, There is a bunch of ways of showing the positive here. But it's coupling that with location that will provide the challenge An example: Shooting at Himitangi (keeping it localish for you) trying to keep the same light conditions, Fighting against the inevitable million knot onshore wind, Planning between showing say a Flasher vs a running rig and attempting to catch fish. (remember, Through the power of editing any story can be made to seem real. If ya dont catch a fish, its relatively trivial to fake it. Chad then replies about Bagging a product: Again guys. Broad-casting not narrow casting. Bagging a product is a great way
to ensure that is your last season.

Now Andrew is up . Graet idea: Take somone from the streets and see what can happen. This is where Drama is involved. Broad casting. See how popular Matts apprentice was. AT least over at FISHNET. Involve some charismatic talent peoples sympathies are involved. Show sells itsself. While this idea is more likley to be sellable: Is it what you are trying to create? A fishing show for fisherpeople?

The Catch em Cook em show even better. If it has been done before (and worked) Then even better as it's a proven concept. Add a twist and most of the hard work (A valid idea) is done.
TV production is relatively easy, A good idea not so much

Anyway: I'm sure Ive pissed enough of you off by now.
It's a bit windy out tonight so I had time on my hands
