Yep. And as per the austerity campaign the poor will be blamed and attempts made to make us pay but maybe this time they'll share some of the suffering. At the very least they might actually have to do some work for their fat bank balances. Honestly this debate shows to me quite adequately the massive disconnect the rich have to the poor, which is why there is this idea that the business as usual needs saving. There is still a belief amongst liberal elites that trickle down provides something! And it does, but only because the rich will always need the poor. There are after all, always going to be bathrooms to clean, fruit to be picked, etc. I'm not convinced there is anything great to be saved by an organisation whose power legitimises the continued existence and belligerence of nato. Maybe if the uk gets poorer, it will have a knock on effect to that violent behemoth. Or maybe it won't. But we know what keeping things as they are will do to change anything for us and the world positively: nothing. If you don't shake the antfarm it will look the same tomorrow as it did today.
Some like what they see today, probably because it benefits them economically, or merely for ease of travel.
