gradually changing the administration of the Party. This is not standing on the side doing or saying nothing. To change a party with rules and personnel that have been shaped in the 70's and 80's to eliminate the left wing is a slow process - but JC is gradually doing this. A Labour leader is not all powerful, he is restricted by the Rules and conventions that determine his powers. I suspect that a fundamental point is that he cannot subvert the rules of the party he can only ask the party at conference to change them. One rule will be that he cannot influence the operation of the NEC and NCC in cases of discipline, merely commenting on the results could bring him down - look how the "anti-semitism lobby" jumped on the suggestion that his office had overstepped the mark in advising on how to deal with cases before the change in the Rules in 2018. In arguments of this nature the burden of proof rests on the party putting forward a proposition but where a person and his reputation is involved there should always be the presumption of innocence as a base. Since neither of us has the inside story as to why JC has been silent on this and other disciplinary cases then maybe we should just continue to assume JC is innocent until we find out the full facts. Until I see an alternative I am still not ready to throw JC under a bus because the party he inherited remains filled with biased bigoted hypocrites some of whom run parts of the machinery. cheers
