A rather weird response from you. You either have rules in place (eg green light for means you're allowed through, red means stopping) or not. How are you suddenly "equally culpable" just because there's a "throng of people wanting to cross"? Does the law suddenly change? How many people do you need for a "throng"? If lots of cyclists want to go through a red light, do they suddenly have that right if there's a "throng"? As I said, unless there's something more to it like faulty brakes (which apparently from all the reports is not the case at all) it is a disgraceful judgement. You've quite clearly got something against cyclists jumping red lights. Well, fine but don't confuse that with ones who do not break the law. I think that's exactly what this idiotic judge did.
