If you're travelling average pedestrian running speed (let's say 15mph) then yes. Look up the casualties rates for collisions in afl for an idea of how dangerous that can be, and bear in mind one party has a helmet and the other doesn't. But if you're talking bikes at speed, that can be anything up to and beyond double that speed, and works on the same principles as me either throwing a small piece of lead or firing it from a gun. Speed matters no matter the size of the vehicle. Where there is serious injury they are obviously equally grave offenses. The act of reckless piloting of a vehicle should be an equally grave offence because it can cause serious injury. I can't see an argument against that that makes any sense. Would it be a suitable argument for an aggressor with a knife to make if he said 'well it's not a bomb'?
