The system between EU countries for export and import of goods now runs smoothly and has done for a very long time. That is, normally there are no checks at the borders between EU countries, like they don't in practice exist anymore. This means there are no unecessary delays. However, suddenly, the UK will be a nation outside the EU's borders and this will mean other conditions will apply, like spotchecks and customs controls. If any of you have ever been to the land borders of the EU with other countries, like Russia or Turkey. Things are very different indeed. There are long ques of lorries waiting in line to enter the EU. There's a lot of 'just in time' logistics within the EU and 'rolling warehouses' where everything is based on saving time, money and energy and getting stuff to the marketplace as quickly and efficiently as possible. It should be ####ing obvious that this applies to foodstuffs, vegetables and fruit, even more so. The idea that Brexit, especially the disaster of a crash Brexit, that'll have only minor disruptive consequences for the UK; is patently absurd and doesn't describe the complex reality of how trade functions within the EU. But who cares about realities when anti-EU dogma, bordering on religious faith, is all that matters? And food wont' be cheaper for the non-existant 'working class' outside the EU because the £ will weaken and we'll probably end up paying more for everything we import, including food. Finallly, the ridiculousness of many on the nationalist left is something to behold. If one follows their arguments, they'll soon be arguing that voting for Boris Johnson in the coming election is the best way to get the UK out of the EU!
