Yes, I understood what you meant. I don't think mandatory voting works (it's a requirement in Australia, and you get fined and can lose your drivers license if you refuse to vote and don't pay the fine). None of the above is implicit in not voting anyway and saves on paper. In Australia, when you didn't like anything on offer you did a donkey vote (filled in nothing, or took the opportunity to write what you thought in the margins). The trouble is, at the doors to each voting spot (halls and schools etc) there'd be people offering you paraphernalia on their party or how to vote cards (preferential voting). As such, many with no interest in any of it not understanding of how easy to manipulate preferential voting is, took a card and followed suit. It's at least as farcical there as it is here. I'd agree with the majority of the electorate or dissolution of parliament strategy, it's a much quicker path to an anarchic society than tip toeing around the shitty system in place right now where even those who are aware seem to think it's better than nothing. Nothing is better than this something.. Cheers
