If your argument is to remove legitimacy to the democratic vote surreptitiously then I don't agree. Sort out parliamentary democracy via channels you're thinking of first. After that, referenda would hopefully be closer matches in terms of democracy. ATM, it is the pinnacle in democratic achievement. Rejecting it because it doesn't account for all the votes when the turnout was over 72%, before addressing the ge turnouts which general hover at about 65% is pleasing yourself to get a result changed you don't like. Until then, referendum is more democratic than we have elsewhere (as I explained earlier). Fix the worst travesties of democracy first and work back from there. All you'd be proving by holding another referendum now is that propaganda does indeed work (assuming it went your way- if there is another, I'll be voting this time, but to leave. I suspect there are plenty others who've had about enough of the hypocrisy of the liberal elite when it comes to democracy). We can see the same thing of course happening in the us ATM with calculations for impeaching trump by the democrats, rather than them just admitting the reason people didn't vote for the democrats was because they're tired of the promises and the lies and the forever war mongering, and to..err.. Trump that, Clinton was a nastier piece of work than even trump. Again, framed as a racist vote, but probably far from it, despite the us record.
