Mahanga is a small beach and very rarely fishable..........

Tide also comes right upto the dunes so access is difficult.

By making everyone fish together, you revert in the complete opersite direction of knowledge and skill and you place fate on luck. You still need a balance and a reasonably open area........

I still believe the champs is made to test the best, age is not a factor. They have a golie oldie section for those who feel age is a barrier........

It is rewarding walking into spots, spots anyone can fish and are not private........ Putting it on in one area would not only be bloody boring, but what are the chances that particular beach will be fishable.......

Its a fantastic concept how it is currently set, having the knowledge of the coast is a huge advantage, and so that should be, after all, to get knowledge you need hard yards, which is a key factor.

And to answer your question Gary on why would we bother........ To prove to your self that you can do it........ "Why not".

I wouldn't like to go to a nationals only for a lottary ticket and a peg to deside my fate, I would prefer using information that as an angler you gather over years and putting it to the test...... Save the sammy's for when the bins full and its weight in time.... and wash em down with a cold ale.

I don't mean to pick at the idea, and I think its great, but if you want to test yourself you still need space to make the right or wrong discussion, leaving luck at home and fate at your feet
