Hi All The mot tests are carried out so that vehicles that reach a minimum standard passes. VOSA criteria. There comes the Question that some ones minimum standard can be more minimum than others.
By reading this posts VOSA'S minimum standard is a lot less than ours in the selection of people for NT positions.
There is a nation wide shortage of mot testers it is said and the local tech college is having to train all these people that are looking for a job you know the type any job. Usually on a 6 months block under some job creation scheme or an other.
I agree with Tom compulsory national registration for Mechanics/Technicians is the proper way forward independent of trade and government interference
A last thought minimum standard is a bit like affordable housing great sound bite but really means nothing.
