I don't know about the rest of you but I charge £43.95 inc VAT in Rotherham, South Yorks. There are a lot of very suspect garages around me who charge less but my customers don't seem to compain. My labour rate for basic servicing is a little less at £40.95.
This seems to put me above the average for my area but if you include the 'kerbside' mechanics who work on motors in their spare time the average is going to be very low.
