For those who don't read 'Honest John' in the Telegraph. He often hits the nail on the head.

His recent response to a reader who was whining about labour charges said correctly that labour charges were tied quite closely to rateable values. These go up with property values.
As people expect the value of their house to keep increasing, they've got to expect to pay bigger bills. They can't have it both ways.

As for the labour charge website, I'll charge what I have to. If people don't like it, well, they've got a choice.
