    Hi Derek,
    If you are offering a guarantee with your work its best to define it on your invoice i.e.for how long,no unauthorised tampering etc.
    If your work is guaranteed you've no option but to honour it IMHO.There may be cases where you cannot offer a warranty and then the customer needs to know this and it must be stated on the invoice.We use a check box at the bottom of the invoice:GUARANTEE APPLIES YES/NO. In the situation you described you gave the customer excellent after sales service and he can have no complaint about that.Regard the time spent as an investment to retain the clients business.
