These cheap foreign cars (Peugeot, Citroen, Renault, Fiat) always struggle on the emissions test unless they are really hot. Had an AX in on Saturday and you could see that the CO was just out of limits (0.25) but kept it on a high idle for another couple of minutes and then bingo, CAT lights up and CO comes tumbling down! These cars with the small CATs have to be really, really hot to get through first time. With the BET test on petrol it isn't necessary to measure the temp (you can just say its warm or the fan cut in), but for diesels its a different, they want you to measure the oil temp (and therefore have a record of it) and most places don't (us included) but we and others will need to change. For petrols its 80C but for diesel's its 60C but of course they do take an age to warm up. Sean
