Saying that all the ills of the world via the us is coming to us because of brexit is like saying it's because of the devil. It doesn't explain anything. Capitalism has been modus operandi for the last 2 centuries in the west. Of course the us wants the nhs to dismantle, and the cogs have been in motion for nearly 10 years. Brexit is an excuse, and because everyone has lined up on opposite sides, were left with a constructed idea that brexit means we deserve everything coming to us, and remaining means we get all the pie in the sky. .. The article outlined things like American import meat as a scare item. Why? The U.K. Produces and exports meat. Why are we even buying it in now? We get meat from Europe, Australia, nz, the South China Sea among other places already. Only one of them relates to trade deals with Europe, and Europe trades with non eu countries too, already. By all means, talk about (and agitate against) a govt conspiracy against the people via the nhs sell off. By unless it can be shown that leaving the eu leaves the govt with no option but to sell out to American big pharma, then it's a scare tactic, and one that obfuscates the facts and uses them as a political pawn to get an unrelated goal. In pharmaceuticals, there are generic and patented versions of most drugs. Countries can and do decide to honour or ignore greedy American patents (just as America ignores non American patents), and produce generic drugs at a fraction of the prices the us demands. What stops that here, and what would stop it going into overdrive? It's not about leaving or remaining in the eu, but it is about corruption and under the table deals between rich ####ers in political circles; a thing that doesn't stop whether the uk is in or out of the eu(a thing we know, because it's been going on this whole time and we've been in the eu for 26 years). So, either I'm missing some great big piece of the puzzle, or these things are being conflated to win political points. And if it's confusing me(a person who stays abreast of the finer details of political comings and goings), what chance do you think there is of the greater public to see the points I'm missing? Cheers
