Then there is the beginner, someone who can cast at forty-five degrees in any direction, consistently crossing lines. This is really noticeable in tournaments where fishing in close proximity to a fellow angler is necessary.
Don't go painting one type of beach user with black paint, there are plenty of surfcasters who have no idea of beach etiquette either, and do much to damage the reputation of fishing as a whole. Just read the Awatoto thread.
You, just like me, have the benefit of many years of experience. The people who are just into our wonderful sport are on their learning curve. A little help, understanding and tolerance will really go a long way.
I mentioned in an earlier post the site is in danger of being viewed as elitist, this thread is a perfect example. As for being a surfcasting message board, the owners may think a little differently, especially as they sell all the equipment for those who enjoy fishing using other methods.
