i look at it this way i am both a surf caster and i also use a kontiki,i think we would be better bi*chn bout the trawler boats going around and dropping there net how is that fair on the snapper and us fisho , as soon as they get into the net its over either going to die from being crushed,die from getting towed around for hours ,or meany other ways i am sure, yet using a long line doesn't mean that its a guarantee feed , you still loose fish ive lost more fish from the waves than i wish to count yet ive also put smaller snapper back to swim off happy,some time i think i would of been better buying a couple of fillets than couple packs of bait . i disagree with the people who set there kontiki at 6am and only think to start pulling in after 1pm only to have had it drift and every thing on the line is exhausted and 90% dead, back to the point trawlers pull up tones and tones of snapper,yet how many tones are the breading fish producing i say the numbers wouldn't work out think we would be better off working together to try get the boats quot er lowed or last least put in place a 15k no trawler zone around the coast line
