Poor value for money too. I spent £10 on this whatever it was...chili thing. Then £2.50 for two little pieces of potato. Then £2.50 for maybe four vegetable samosas that had some kind of beans on top of them. I ate almost all of the chili thing and the two potatos. So all I have left is a bit of the chili and the samosas.
Compare this to what you get from, say, Dominos for £15. Two large pizzas for maybe £18 on a Tuesday. That shit will last three days easy. Maybe four. It's at least the equivelent of how far my grocery shopping lasts and at the same price.
I was listening to a radio show recently. Some small time, local Chicago radio show was interviewing the widow of Roy Brown, who portrayed Cookie the Cook on Bozo's Circus and later the Bozo Show. He was a clown, if it needs to be spelled out.
Roy Brown died about 20 years ago. His widow must be approaching 90 years old. She was Roy Brown's second wife.
So these radio guys are asking her how she met the late Mr Brown. She says that she was in a restaurant and he approached her. When he left, one of her friends said, "That's Cookie from Bozo's Circus" and this woman said that she wasn't impressed with that. I think her exact words were, "I didn't care about that kids' show."
Fair enough, saying "I'm a clown on a local children's television show" isn't a guaranteed panty dropper. But this is the man's widow. She was married to him for like 20 years. She has to bring him down even in death? This is her husband for fuck's sake.
And what was this woman doing with her life that was so great? Was she on a television show that was an institution in the second largest city in America?
It goes to show that women degrading men isn't a recent phenomena. Roy Brown did at least 100 times more with his life than this woman, yet she still thinks she deserves better than a mere actor on a childrens' television show. But what has she done?
