As a long term customer of Axa who has recently renewed my policy I have been following these posts with great interest. I also tried the NIG route for a quote and when presented to Axa they came in slightly lower. Not sure if they would have been as willing without the other quote though. I did learn from a family friend who works in the insurance industry that NIG have been taking on a great deal of extra business recently, his thoughts being that a sale of the business may be in the pipeline, hence the increase of their turnover. It will be interesting to see if that is the case. I guess that the extra competition is helping all of us with lower prices though which is unusal in this day and age!
