That opportunity came about before Coronavirus when the Tories won a majority of 80 at the election: big enough to do whatever they like anywise. Good grief. If you cannot see the difference between enormous powers that the state has now without any protest compared to what the state can do under normal conditions, then you need some reflecting on your comprehension ability. Estimates are estimates: on hard numbers its only recently that the actual figure of the daily dead has become easier to find, whilst those in English nursing homes are still not included in the official figures. Right, so why no estimates on the consequences of the lockdown? That's all I ask. But that doesn't gives me leave to pretend that the virus is really nothing to worry about. Not taking it seriously is after all how the government got us into this mess in the first place. Who's pretending there's nothing to worry about? Who's not taking it seriously? Just because I ask what the consequences of a lockdown are? By the way, France and Spain have taken it far more seriously with far more stringent lockdowns. Presumably then, they're not in a mess compared to the UK?
