The government has no real interest in bullying people in the park (though of course the police are always zealously up for an expansion of their power)... well, then we should be very wary of giving them extra powers. and you can still pretty much say what you like and all that will happen will be that you are "ignored to death"...because government control of the media makes such private views largely ineffectual. Perhaps for now. Given we're all essentially under house arrest which would have been unthinkable a few months ago, it's not unthinkable that this right will soon disappear too. -Anyone who still thinks that this virus is really "like seasonal flu " and the brouhaha is really a big conspiracy to remove your liberties. Ah, now I get it. You thought I was peddling this theory. I'm sure I never mentioned it, nor was it what I commended in the article. You've given such a good impression of supporting the governments original ruthless herd immunity cull I suspect you would do that job better than I ever could. Thanks, no slave labour for me then. More seriously, the (more) stringent lockdowns in France and Spain are doing wonders for their death rates relative to the UK -- what do you think? Should we copy them?
