Two comparisons: by case fatality percentage, and by deaths per head of population. (Source, worldometer https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries) By comparison with other countries with major populations, Sweden is 7th highest in the world by case fatality %. Ranked by deaths per per population, Sweden is eighth in the world. By comparison with Scandinavian countries, Sweden is worst by a very long way. On the first table Norway, Denmark and Finland aren't even at the same end of the table. Numerically, using both these measures Sweden's figures are at least 3 times as bad as theirs. Assuming protecting the population is the object - having resulted in unnecessary deaths already seemingly numbering in the thousands, how can it then succeed? Lets not be patriotic - on these measures, the UK is a worse failure.
