Maybe you're just coming across wrongly. You said wait till the end to see who comes out worst. That's in the face of significant numbers of real deaths, which are continuing during this 'wait'. To say we don't know if the deaths already there in Sweden are worse than the fifth or so in Norway without 'waiting to see' IS downplaying them. Waiting for some abstraction to step in that might somehow outweigh these deaths? True, you aren't explicitly 'relying' on a second wave as that was an "eg" of yours. That begs the question - what ARE you proposing should be done about the excess deaths. Are you aware how much it comes across as advocating doing nothing? I get you don't like the lockdown; if you aren't proposing to 'do nothing' I think you need better suggestions that are more concrete.- or people will continue to not get what you mean. Now I don't like the fleece job that's being done on the public purse. I'd rather discuss that, than endlessly discuss the minutiae of deaths that are obviously occurring in big numbers. I accept something needs to be done to avert the deaths - but I don't accept that the fleece job is necessary or is even a solution. That's not worlds away from your position but we can't get anywhere while continuing to argue over the deaths. Cheers
