Thanks Alan for thinking of me, and sorry that you didn't get to read my extended thoughts on "the American Genie" that resulted from discovering this story - via MoA and other commenters. For months "we" have been trying to find out what happened at Fort Detrick that caused it to be closed down two months before the October 'events', and now we know. My speculation, and I suppose it is only speculation even though it's almost proven to me, is that the CDC rapidly identified what had caused that outbreak but failed to contain it. Because it was summer the infection only simmered under the surface, but popped up in the flu season - as predicted. The monumental consequences of this outbreak, not because of the deaths from the virus but because of the pandemic potential and repercussions meant they had to come up with a desperate strategy to fix it on China. With Fauci and Shi Zhengli as go-betweens this was not too difficult.... SO although we might imagine the WHO and Gates and the Pharmas came up with this evil scheme, it seems that they simply took advantage of an accident which they had long made plans for. That they didn't have a vaccine ready was something I could never understand when considering a deliberate release of the engineered virus.
