So, not only am I a "denialist", but I've have also said that "Coronavirus on the death certificate wasn't meaningful" Can you quote me on either?" "..only Fifty thousand excess deaths so far." To which you posted: "Excess deaths, yes. But of what?" -As near thirty five thousand of those have coronavirus on the death certificate that's "of what". The FT estimate of the actual numbers of deaths by the virus even in April was forty one thousand: https://www.ft.com/content/67e6a4ee-3d05-43bc-ba03-e239799fa6ab You likewise denied that the care home deaths were caused by Coronavirus: "...caused, not by the virus, but by government/health officials panicked reactions to it." you said. -"Panicked reactions" apparently kill...and you're still doing it: "That's 40,000 excess deaths -- NOT from Covid-19, but presumably because of the consequences of the measures taken..." -That looks like serious denial to me. Yet your own concluding quote from RT: "The main thing that went wrong, I believe, was a failure to understand that hospitals would become the vectors for Covid, the epicentres for the infection. We - the hospitals, the decisions taken by the NHS managers with their clipboards - spread the disease, especially among the elderly vulnerable in care homes. A disease that we were trying to stop... killing the elderly and vulnerable." -Makes it quite clear quite clear that the cause of the excess deaths was indeed the virus quite irrespective of how it spread. -Now on the allocation of blame which you chose to confuse with cause of death, that is another question, but in actual fact it was quite obvious from the beginning that care-homes were uniquely vulnerable. In fact I'm on record here along with Brooks pointing that out in quite explicit terms: that Care & Nursing homes would "...become a euphemism for a Morgue" Meanwhile... the official Government media line at that very point in time was that not only was the NHS "exceptionally well prepared..." but that it was unlikely that the disease would spread to Care homes...so they weren't at risk at all... On the spread of the virus you deny likewise that Boris was to blame..."...Of course, so much easier to lay the blame at Boris..." you say... Nor according to you was the government to blame: "disastrous decisions are made by NHS management -- quite independent of the government." you claim. -Oh no...it was the NHS itself that was to blame: bad management in the NHS...notwithstanding the fact that the entire NHS management system with all its ludicrous internal markets was put in place by the Tories...that Jeremy Hunts further "reforms" were designed to copy the worst health service in the world: that of the US- a system designed more as an elective cosmetic surgery business than one whose "business" was to preserve the actual health of a nation: a Tory NHS where something like the idea that a reduced number of ICU beds could be used as a marker of a hospitals "efficiency" under imported business "ideas" such as JIT (Just In Time) and could actually be taken seriously, moreover having consequences for availability of beds as well as of course stockpiles of PPE. In fact if I was a schemer like Dominic Cummings I would already be looking to shift the blame for this disaster from the government and where better to shift it than the health service: opening it up to even more "reform"? For that I would employ someone like you to shift both cause of death & blame for what was a predictable and preventable viral death toll turned into a disaster from its rightful place at the door of government onto the NHS itself and indeed have the public lectured on how it was NOT caused by a virus: oh no...sir... but by "measures taken..." and "panicked reactions" by an incompetent NH"... So yea denial, obfuscation, blame-reallocation, repetition, repetition: perfect CV for the job.
