well done -- you're real competition for Monbiot when it comes to accusing people of denialism. I must have touched a nerve telling you to read and reflect. According to https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ the UK has 34,636 deaths from corona. I don't contest that, nor have I ever done -- pathetic that I even have to point this out. If you've seen my messages here (and clearly you have, as you've picking out bits of sentences out of context) this should have been obvious to you. Concievably, the miscommunication is to do with the phrase "excess deaths". I've taken it to mean the extra deaths over and above the usual death rate (i.e. the average over the last x number of years). So my 40,000 remark was just directly from the Guardian's 80% figure of 50,000. OTOH, you seem to attribute all excess deaths to covid-19. The rest of your diatribe is (deliberate?) misinterpreting phrases or taking them out of context. I don't want to waste a lot of time on each as I have far more enjoyable things to do. But just to take one: "...caused, not by the virus, but by government/health officials panicked reactions to it." you said. Even a six-year old could have understood that I meant it's not (directly) caused by the virus. If these patients hadn't been moved, many of them would be alive and wouldn't have infected others. So Dr Malcolm Kendrick is also a schemer then, like Dominic Cummings? You're really quite poisonous and nasty. Write all you like, but I'm out of this. |
