Hi Dave, You do not need to code a used ECU to test, just plug it in and if all else is ok you will have coms back. If this has a seperate immo ECU it is easy to code a used EMS. No codes needed, just reset adaptions in ch00 to 00 and save. Ign off. Ign on but do not start for 60 seconds. To adapt the used ECU you will need comms. If the old ECU was faultly then just plugging in the used one will get you comms again. If you do not get comms you need to look further. Another way to do this would be to verify EMS supplies and grounds (load test), cut K line at the EMS and try to comm direct. If the EMS will still not com it is faulty. Was the locksmith able to read and verify the SKC you have? If a wrong code is used on these the normal reaction is for the procedure to freeze and comms to be lost with the immo. As far as I am aware this Seat will have partial CAN but that has nothing to do with comms. The K Line will go through the immo module but will not be a CAN signal. A faulty immo module could pull the K Line down for the EMS without disturbing comms for itself. If you have only a K line problem I cant see that effecting the 5v outputs. I have had a few like this on Ibiza's with no comms that were faulty ECU's. HTH Alan
