Hi David, I'm with Mike on this, although you tested continuity of the 5V wires to the sensors you did not say whether you tested them for shorts to earth. The problem could be a chafed wire or a faulty sensor, for example on one vehicle (can't remember what it was now) I had a faulty VSS which had filled with water and corroded up inside which kept blowing up the ECU.
