He's caught in the paradox if reformism; it isn't complicated. Archived Message

Corbyn wants to make a few ameliorative changes to actually-existing fascism. This is an opportunity for the fascist state to make an example of him and his supporters. Many of his "supporters" are fellow-travellers, ready to throw him overboard when the price is right. To an extent, this is politics as usual - McDonnell distancing himself is an obvious example of amoral political opportunism. Something's slightly different this time; Corbyn's milquetoast policies are being bruited as a revolutionary challenge to the status quo. This is a moment where we are being given an example of a mobilisation of the right - in the places that matter politically because of the disenfranchisement of the masses since the 1970s. The Commons, state broadcaster, corp-0-rat media, the commanding heights of the economy, the EU and the US empire are doing to us, through Corbyn, what Eisenhower did to Anthony Eden in 1956 and Baldwin did to Thick Eddie in 1936. They are showing us who's boss and that they won't compromise or retreat. Against this there are only two responses, fight or flight. Have you noticed Corbyn doing any fighting? The antisemitism imbroglio exists because it was put there years ago, a latent booby-trap to sabotage someone who the people wanted to be a saviour and who manifestly wasn't. All you have to do is imagine what Galloway would have done with these scoundrels. This is easy because he's been doing it for years.
