Atheism, on the other hand, is a belief, a fundamentalist belief in materialism, rationality, and self. Atheists, in general, are not so much lacking in a belief in God, but rather embittered and hateful towards God and those who believe in Him. Actually, you couldn't be more wrong. Ricky Gervais expressed it clearly and succinctly as character Andy Millman in the episode of Extras with Catholicism as its theme. He said when people ask him why he doesn't believe in god, he isn't required to say anything or justify his position. The onus is entirely on those who believe in one to prove their particular god exists. And you might like to believe that atheists are rather embittered and hateful towards God and those who believe in Him because it makes you feel more comfortable and at ease with your beliefs, but that is wishful-thinking and mere delusion on your part.
