Nice one, Rhisiart! Some forms of capitalism, the rapacious sort, can make profits from chaos, certainly, as we know and as Naomi Klein has written about, but in many areas capitalism is equally about just making decent investments in companies that provided needed goods and services for the pension funds and ordinary investors. A stable market is important for the majority of fund managers just trying to get the best return from a successful economy. The opportunities for decent returns from a more socialist Labour administration will still be there; after all, Corbyn has promised much more investment in a productive economy, capitalists will love that. If Labour can bring stability this may well be more important now than the fights later on in regard to nationalisation etc. Perhaps, like psingh is fond of accusing, they think they can get Corbyn to moderate his views to their advantage. I wouldn't reckon on this too much, underlying Corbyn's way of doing things is a quiet determination and political stubbornness. He's still there, he's still fighting, and he wouldn't be if he thought that ultimately he won't succeed in turning things around politically and economically. But who knows?
