Regarding voting leave then sitting on hands; were all sitting on our hands, because the lack of democracy prevents us doing anything else. Voting leave then promoting a party that won't allow that result doesn't make sense. Nor does promoting the tories. In terms of consistency, both Keith and psingh are consistent, much as you might not like their tone, they seem to understand that we cannot promote democracy and insist that ignoring it is pragmatic when we do t like the result. I know many are still championing corbyn as a type of saviour, but under uks 'representational democracy', all of us should know better. The compromises he has made for the last several years are ones which compromise his position as ethically solid. We know that once in, like johnsons party, if the rest don't like the proposal they need only vote against him and he has no majority to rule anything effectively. He has shown himself not to be a leader that would want to shake the foundations of the system, therefore the system will rule him, as it does currently. What Keith has seen (and I have seen) is that, like Obama, the fervour does not match the reality. I would suggest that the reason people are trying nevertheless to place their faith in him (not the party he stands for) is that the alternative means they might in fact have to get up off their hands. As with brexit, it seems even the left are not keen for change so great as that. Since I was a teen I have recognised that when people start insisting I learn pragmatism what that really meant was, they had given up and so should I. Right now, I'm seeing that stuff here on this board. I find it disappointing to say the least. But, as I said this morning, whatever is going to happen now will happen. It isn't like any of us have a say i the matter in this great democracy. Keith's I told you sos have been relevant as events have unfolded, I suspect we will be in for at least one more. If not, I'll eat my words, but I suspect I won't have to, and will instead need more real sustenance Cheers
