Is stooping to a level you find distasteful a good approach or a poor one? Keith and Ken have always been prone to outbursts of frustration, johnlioburne not so much. My approach is to judge according to nature. If Ken bites my head off, that's expected and no hard feelings. If johnlioburne or let's say margo did, that would smart. By not saying anything I'm neither defending nor attacking them for that. I'm not here as arbitrator, just putting my own point of view forward where I feel it necessary. Do you call out everyone you disagree with here, or just the ones that surprise you? I recall similar accusations from Walter as though to make a criticism meant I must criticise all or none at all. Similar stuff in the msm years back as an accusation against pilger for his 'polemic', that he focuses only on one side. Disagreement about an issue is not the same as an attack; Keith's point above is accurate, but was dismissed as nonsense as have other things either Keith or pSingh have said (and I've disagreed with psingh a lot over the years). That's disappointing from johnlioburne. If it had no traction that should be explained , as with the guts of other such things stated in less than civil terms. If you feel something is incorrect, explanation, evidence etc are the way forward. Not vitriole back the other way. It is interesting to me that over the past few days, as vitriole has increased, the ability to reflect on and discuss things apart from fear and uncertainty has decreased. For me it's been a disappointing insight into what I supposed was a group of free thinking individuals. I think there is a fever of fear and denial whenever the possibility of any real change is afoot (good or bad irrelevant to that). Probably the reason why the more things change the more they stay the same. No one wants change of any sort even in bondage, I guess, but (from my perspective) the more we have the more we stand to lose. I thought I was associating with peers, but perhaps not, and most here live above me in station. That gap can often be debilitating when it comes to common ground. Cheers
