Hi Mike, Darren. Mike the EGR has now been removed & inspected & t looks fine. A blanking gasket has been fitted to rule it out though. Darren, the idle speed control valve did appear to behave as it is supposed to & even when I drag the clutch to nearly stalling point I could see the steps increase accordingly. The rubber joiner between the throttle body & inlet manifold is good too. Today I have squirted engine oil down the plug holes & re checked compressions & I am seeing 225 psi from cold, I quess that confirms that it is a tired old lump with compression loss by the rings (55,000 miles). This didnt seem to improve matters though & the MAP readings look pretty similar to before. I did have a look at the plugs during a hard start moment & they were pretty dry, which blows a hole in my flooding theory. Here are some data snapshots taken under various conditions….. I am close to giving up on this one Thanks for the thoughts, much appreciated! Dave (Hill)
