Thanks Dave. You have just Explained why a Corsa C cam timing was out slightly that we did a few weeks ago, It had already had the head gasket replaced and most likely been skimmed by another garage and they couldn't understand why it was surging on idle afterwards as they had put it back together exactly as it came apart. ( or so they said ) I hadn't thought about Skimming the head affecting the timing so much, This one was very slightly out on each cam and just needed slight adjustment. Easy this job init.
