Hi Darren, I agree that no matter how much material you take off a head it CANNOT make any difference to TDC, but it CAN affect the position of the cams as it is like making the belt longer or stretching it. Therefore the relationship between cam and crank can change. Isn't this the reason why a lot of manufacturers now dont key their shafts instead going for a taper fit pulley/gear/sprocket? Whether this will have such a drastic effect as Dave suggests, I am not sure. Mike |
