with these engines i thought it was the outer crankshaft pulley that was a problem and not the inner. When the outer pulley keyway wears they cause crank/cam phase errors and log codes relating to cam/crank sensor faults and then set ecu into limp home mode. I've had one in before which we drilled and tapped the inner crank pulley so we could attach the outer pulley in the correct position just to see if the keyway was the cause and it worked out ok. |
