Hi Peter,if the car is returned with the same fault present one way to proceed would be the following. Use a four channel scope if possible and connect the four channels as follows; channel 1 earth circuit of sensor, channel 2 main feed of sensor(one of if two), channel 3 track 1 output, channel 4 track 2 output.
This will enable you to monitor earths, feeds and both outputs at the same time, if this is all a okay and within spec then use your four channel scope to monitor both outputs at the TPS and the other two channels to monitor the two inputs at the ECU, this will give you the ability to check and cross reference the traces.
