??? Peterson speaks insincerely, with long words and exhausted idioms, like a cuttlefish spurting out ink ??? Yeah, so much so that millions and millions of people instantly recognize and understand his message, feeling vindicated by someone who articulates their deepest and loneliest perceptions and concerns with a clarity and boldness they wish they had.
"If he recognises the need to end the status quo and work towards a more equal, cooperative world, he has a good way of hiding it."
See my other post of a few minutes before this one.
"Very few people argue for a total dogmatic annihilation of everything ‘captialist’ or ‘Western’, so it’s a strawman argument."
But that's not the point! Critical Theory and Postmodernism in academia is forming the heads of today's and tomorrow's institutions. Combine this with the general nihilism and narcissism infecting the new generation and it does not matter whether the majority want or don't want to annihilate the West. The point is that there is not enough muscle, substance and integrity in the new generations to protect what ought to be protected, and uphold those values and traditions that must be upheld for the achievement of justice and survival! The point is that many people are being herded and led to believe they are doing good when in fact they are participating in their own ultimate slavery and destruction!
Orwell and Huxley were brilliant and talented men, but please, don't make gods of them. They were deeply flawed and anguished products of their time, full of contradictions and the rest of it. Bertrand Russell is another one.
And Peterson is just another man of his time, but your depiction of him being a 'waffler about nothing' is a direct and ridiculous insult on millions of people who most definitely do not see waffling, and who most definitely do hear something substantial, something precious and true which they had perceived as murdered and lost forever.
You are like a Clintonite deploring the deplorables. Why not ask what it is about Peterson that appeals so deeply to so many people? What is this void that Peterson is filling?
What does it say about you and the left for dismissing these obvious questions? What does it say for the millions who understand him? What does it say about the world and these times?
Obvious questions that any humble person would ask. But then, humility is not one of the left's strong points. turtleman
