I flirted with Anarchism when I was in "college" and studying at university..but soon discovered by experience that Anarchism is a fundamentalist approach to both politics and societies ills.. The Stonehenge Festival was the one of the finest examples of Anarchism in action I was ever party too but there was no provision made for disposal of human waste or toileting on-site...and this exemplifies the problem I have always found with Anarchism (except the time we were together only for a day In Sheffield and a group of 50-100 all took mushrooms together at the same time, but we all went home to our flushing toilets afterwards). My first essay at Uni. was a discussion about the practicalities of an anarchist society, in which I championed a much more Schumachian notion of political evolution. The Socialist were intensely boring by comparison, being (esp. in the middle class), doctrinaire poseurs..things haven't changed in either milieu.. The blinkered attitudes remain...only a dynamic alternative narrative can bring people together..and if that's not what needs to happen in order to save both our World and our species I don't know what does.. Look what happens when the traditional narratives are challenged by those pesky, "events" if they don't fit the model they are ignored..which is why the U.N is ignored when its consensus doesn't jibe with the ex-cathedra polemic..
