Even if representative democracy were a true description of uk politics (ha! Have you ever told your mp what this constituent wants and say back to watch them respond with why you're wrong and why they are going to vote how they damn well please, and #### the constituents?), real democracy should be welcomed (an actual say). In fact, it is, right up to the point where we get miffed that other people have different ideas to us. I don't particularly like democracy as a model either, but I'm happier with the concept than I am dictatorship, which is what we are left with when we dispense with the belief that we should defend democracy. If we could have anarchism I would take that in a flash, no decision until there is unanimity . Fine with me. But anarchism is not on offer because, it seems, most people would prefer a ruler to self rule or anything in between. That's why I am disappointed. Your arguments (gymnastics really) prove that- you're intelligent and thoughtful but push comes to shove and you decry democracy to leave only dictators. It's sad, seriously disappointing, not because you think that way but because you are far from alone. We may as well start bowing to lizzy again because that's all that is left.
